Joomla has been designed, not just for normal web sites, but also as a serious competitor for non-open source Content management system'. It is used in simple websites to big complex projects. From time to time joomla creates modules, which is made of few HTML codes. There are modules which contains only one line of javescript code. What many don’t know is the fact that these types of modules are created in few seconds in joomla.

Joomla provides you with default templates and modules, if you feel you want something beyond the existing modules then you have options to create one Module of from the options available, and you could name is as per your requirements. Now you can use the easiest method to create your own module, you don’t have to set any parameters as such besides the standard as there is already a positioning parameter.

How to Edit Existing and Create New Modules in Joomla?

By logging in to Joomla site you will see the module position that already exists. When you edit any module from the existing module manager, you can it is easy to assign or change name the existing positions. And if the position already exists, the modules that are already assigned and the ones published will be shown in order as it is in the modular manager screen. The positions which are available and the place they are exactly located can be easily seen through the preview options available. You can load the modules into the content items through the call, for instance publish a module to the left position, and load it to the article corresponding to the given subject.

When you configure a module, a list appears which allows the administrator to attach modules to the components, so that the administrator can set the login in the first page, not in the consequent pages. Templates may not be need to load modules in any positions, but it is useful if you load one module as a minimum there will be place given for the menu, except if you are interested in coding the navigation on your own

All modules let the addition of parameters. Now the module developers can change the modules without any complex interface but with the help of parameters. Say for example, the module developer wishes to give a color for the background; then the parameter is definite in the given module. So that the administrators can choose the title of the given module and then type the background color, say blue or any other color of your choice, in the parameter box.

Create New Basic Module with the Help of Joomla Online Forums

You can just create a new layout styles, and not much creativity is needed. If you want to do something other than the existing common layout then you can download or take help from online forums of Joomla. You can do this to get a unique site. The newly created modules has the powerful options, which provides you with the flexibility to make a unique content so that there is no duplicating of any.

Free Download Available Some Common Module of Joomla

Events Calendar Modules:

Here you can have a calendar for meetings, seminars, parties and any other interesting activities on your site. Here the projects provides you with the components (events), the related calendar module, and also the modules of the latest events.

Joomla Weather Modules:

These are one of the best looking modules for the joomla CMS. Here you can replace the old weather modules with the newly developed ones, with the help of new templates by adding more weather areas, and also multi-language support. This module is free of cost, under the GNU/GPL license.

Media Gallery Module:

This photo gallery module can store images, audio and video files. It can also store documents like pdf files. Here you can create multiple galleries with the help of the easy user interface. It uses the css format. Here you can resize the images and also create thumbnails.

Now how you can get into Joomla? The modular installer here requires a zip file of the PHP and the XML file. You have to zip the two files. Select the modules from the joomla administrator and install from the menu bar. At the bottom you will find an upload option. You have to upload the zip file. And the module gets installed and ready to use.

Now you can select the pages in which the module should appear, by going to modules and clicking the manage modules option.

And another important factor is, you can expect the developer to create a module do that it can be used by people who don have the knowledge of HTML and CSS. So it is better to handle the work to the person who has a fair idea about these and you need not worry anymore. Also if you know PHP program then you can create your own Joomla module. Also you can check for the solutions available online. So that you will get a fair idea about how it is done.

Any one help me

i have a problem in coding mysql tag
I am a php programmer and iam new in joomla1.0
I know php very well but now i make module in joomla1.0
in which i write whole code but one problem is there

the problem is that
In joomla the mysql code is written like this

$database->setQuery( $query, 0, $items );
$rows = $database->loadObjectList();
$numrows = count( $rows );

while in general php
we write like this

$sql=mysql_query($query);
$no=mysql_num_rows($sql);

now if i want fetching an elment from a single row of table i write
$row=mysql_fetch_array($sql);
and suppose i want name in that row then i write
$name=$row['firstname'];
where $name is php variable and firstname is the element of table

So how the code will write in joomla 1.0 for fetching any element

sorry for that:-
